Branding Photography for the Way You Actually Work

A good headshot gets you noticed. A full branding session gives you a year's worth of content that looks like you and makes people want to work with you. Sessions are built around your business — a studio in the Mission, a co-working space in Oakland, a café in Berkeley where the real meetings happen. Entrepreneurs, consultants, chefs, makers: if your work has a face and a story, branding photography across the San Francisco Bay Area makes both visible.

Opulent Chef

When I received a booking request about documenting a dinner party at Parties that Cook SF, I was thrilled, not only because of the talents and the food, but also the concept of cannabis infused food.  Guests are welcomed to go up to Chef and ask questions. The high energy, patience, and skills involved in the whole meal preparation is just incredible.

LuLaRoe Clothing

One of the request from Linda was she wants to emphasize on how versatile LuLaRoe clothing is. So I suggested to simply incorporate her family into the session. One of the challenges were , well, you know children are not necessary in a good mood on session day. But by making the session more interactive, everyone had a fun experience

IMCondition Training

Erin and her clients were such a pleasure to shoot. Instead of the glamour shots of gym body, Erin wanted to showcase the “reality” of a typical training session would be like; a fully equipped gym, a enthusiastic trainer, and happy clients.

I recently had professional pictures taken for my website and wellness business and found Emily to be amazing to work with! She understood exactly what I wanted, and took gorgeous pictures!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does branding and headshot photography cost in San Francisco?

Personal branding sessions typically run $1,000–$3,000 for a solid range of images. Hourly rates go from $150–$500 for newer photographers up to $800–$1,500 for established pros, and full-day branding shoots can reach $5,000–$10,000+ at the luxury tier.

What's the difference between a headshot and a branding photography session?

A headshot is one focused portrait, usually meant for LinkedIn, a website bio, or a business card. Branding photography is a bigger session — often 4–6 outfit or setting changes — built to capture a range of images that tell your business or personal story for a full year of marketing.

What should I wear for a branding or headshot session?

Solid colors and well-fitted, simple pieces that match your industry photograph best. Skip busy patterns and big logos, and for a traditional corporate headshot, structured neutral tones like a blazer or suit are the safe choice.

How often should I update my LinkedIn or branding photos?

Most photographers recommend refreshing headshots and brand photos every 1–2 years, or sooner after a major change in role, look, or business direction — outdated photos quietly hurt credibility on professional platforms.
